about

Hello!

My namename is Michelle Tacdol and I’m a designer maker based in South East London.
N A M E N A M E is a pod full of my varied expertise, specialising in gifts & embroidery for weddings, new home, milestones or any special occasion. I combine bespoke digital machine embroidery with sustainable textiles and repurposed fabrics, to help reduce textile waste.
I’ve worked in retail my whole life, always in the gifts & accessories or art & design industries. I initially studied BSc Architecture, graduated in BA Jewellery & Silversmithing and worked in bespoke textile customisation. With all these interests combined, I've a natural flair for interior design and decoration. Alongside N A M E N A M E, I work part-time for my husband’s company jewellerybox, previously as their sole jeweller engraver and now their buyer.
Heart-Shatteringly!... Both my parents passed away 5 years apart of each other in recent years and can't bear throwing away their clothes. They migrated to the UK from The Philippines in the 70’s, worked tirelessly hard, partied merrily and dressed fabulously for decades. I wear a lot of their clothes but have masses of unused material. This reinforces my aim to repurpose material that would otherwise end up in landfill.
Currently, I customise and personalise ready made sustainable textiles, from vintage linen tableware to organic cotton T's. My aim is to encourage you to reduce textile waste too, by digging out unwanted clothes or sentimental textiles hidden away. I can customise your existing garments to relove or repurpose your unused material into unique gifts.
...

MASSIVE shout out to U-Build | We designed and self-built our dream garden pod as soon as discovering them.
